Wrapping Instructions for Front Wrap Cross Carry(FWCC)

0+ months recommended ages

 1. Place the middle marker at the center of your chest.

  1. Bring one wrap tail (the tail end of the wrap) around your back, and bring that wrap tail over the opposite shoulder.

  1. Repeat so the second wrap tail is over the second shoulder.

  1. Bring your hand between your body and the horizontal front pass at your chest, then guide baby into the wrap using your hands.

  1. Bring the wrap up baby’s back to the nape of the neck for an arms-in carry or to under baby’s arms if baby is developmentally ready for an arms-out carry. Baby is generally considered developmentally ready for an arms-out carry if baby has mastered head, neck, and trunk control.

  1. Take the bottom edge of the wrap from one knee to the other, then pin it between you and baby to create the seat of the wrap.

  1. While supporting baby’s weight with one hand, use the other hand to tighten the wrap by pulling forward in sections from the shoulder.

  1. Bring tightened shoulder pass down under baby’s bum and hold secure with one hand.

  1. Tighten the second shoulder pass by pulling forward in sections and passing them to the hand securing the other shoulder pass under baby’s bum.

  1. Cross tightened shoulder passes under baby’s bum.

  1. Going between your body and baby’s legs, bring passes to your back and tie securely in a double knot.
